Design Planning Session Guide
Know what to expect, what to bring, and how to make the most of your complimentary design planning session.
What to Expect
Your first meeting is a focused conversation about your home, goals, priorities, and next steps. Most sessions last 30–60 minutes.
-
This complimentary, no-pressure meeting usually lasts 30–60 minutes. We will talk about your goals, timing, budget, and the kind of help you need.
-
Be ready to share what works, what does not, who uses the space, and the changes that matter most to your household.
-
Bring photos, saved ideas, rough measurements, plans, or material samples if you have them. They do not need to be polished or complete.
-
We will explain the recommended path forward, what information is still needed, and whether a follow-up meeting or site visit makes sense.
How to Prepare
A little preparation helps your designer understand your needs and give you useful direction from the start.
-
Bring any plans, measurements, photos of the current space, inspiration images, and a list of must-haves. If you do not have these yet, that is okay.
-
Think about your ideal timing, comfortable investment range, biggest frustrations, preferred style, and who should be involved in decisions.
What This Session Is—and Is Not
-
We listen, ask questions, and help organize your ideas so you can understand the best next step for your project.
-
The session is designed to give you clarity. You are not expected to make final decisions or sign a contract during the meeting.
-
Detailed drawings, final selections, and complete pricing usually require more information and happen later in the design process.
Is a Design Planning Session Right for You?
-
You are exploring a kitchen, bathroom, or cabinetry project and want professional guidance before making major decisions.
-
You need emergency repairs, only a single trade, or final construction pricing before the project scope has been defined.
A Helpful Reminder:
You do not need every answer before your session. Bring what you have, and we will help you organize the rest.
